
ELİF GELMEZ

Elif Gelmez received her bachelor's degree from Kocaeli University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture in 2014. In 2015, she began her master's studies in the Architectural History and Theory program at Yıldız Technical University, and completed the program in 2019 with her thesis titled “Modern Circus Spaces in Istanbul in the Ottoman Period,” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Gül Akdeniz. She has been continuing her PhD in the same program at Yıldız Technical University since 2020.
She started her academic career in 2017 as a research assistant in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Kültür University, where she has been working as a lecturer since 2020. She teaches undergraduate courses on architectural and art history, interior architecture history and first-year interior design studio. Her research interests include 19th&20th-century architectural and interior design history, historiography of interior architecture, and interior architecture education.
