MELİS ÖRNEKOĞLU SELÇUK

She started her undergraduate education with a scholarship at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She studied at the Industrial Design Department of Univerza v Ljubljani in Slovenia during the 2013-2014 Spring Semester of her undergraduate education as an Erasmus student. After completing her undergraduate education in 2016, she started her graduate education in Izmir Institute of Technology, Department of Industrial Design in the same year. In 2019 she received her Master's degree with her thesis entitled “Participatory Design Improving the Quality of Life of Children with Cancer”. In 2019, she started her doctorate education in Middle East Technical University, Department of Industrial Design. After completing her doctoral courses here, in 2021, she joined the Erasmus+ KA2 project "T-CREPE Textile Engineering for Co-creation Paradigms in Education" as a researcher. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design at Ghent University. Between 2017-2021, she worked as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Industrial Design. Since 2021, she has been working as a researcher at Ghent University, Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design. She took part in the scientific research project "DATUMM_Documenting and Archiving Turkish Modern Furniture" (2013-2015) as an assistant and she worked in the scientific research project "Reading the History of Furniture and Interior Architecture in Turkey with the Oral History Method" (2019-2021) as a researcher.
